SCT X4 problems

So now suddenly my SCT X4 won't do anything. As soon as I plug it in it says there is an update available. When I click yes it gets to the end and says "incorrect file size, update failed" and if I try to delete or add a file the bar stop s halfway and say Loading Custom Tune Failed (CTF Error) I can't factory rest either because the device is "married". Anyone experience any problems like this?

Haven't had to mess with it yet, but I thought I read somewhere that they say to return the car to stock before updating the tuner.

Maybe that's the case. I think it's a flaw with that notification system, as it's spamming me with an update request it should at least notify me that it needs to be returned to stock first instead of just going ahead with it. See if I decline the instant update request and go to "check for update" on my own the first thing that comes up is return the "vehicle to stock before updating" so I will try that. Hopefully it doesn't brick.

Call SCT if you don't get it fixed. They're pretty good about resolving issues.

yes, you'll need to get with sct they should be able to remotely log in and fix it, 49 out of 50 times anyway

Ok, I will definitely call today because even after updating I still can't remove or add tunes.

Any update? I just got mine today. Downloaded the update software from the website. The software does not see my device when its plugged in to check for updates..I did manage to update the X4 via wifi. But still does not see it in the software.

I had similar problems. My desktop would see it but no matter what my netbook would not. I went and bought a laptop just for the SCT. Even after updating my netbook to Win10 it still would not recognize. I did all kinds of things to the netbook concerning the USB and com ports and still could not get it to work.

Yes, call SCT. If we can't seem to fix our customers problem they remotely log in and can fix your problem with out a doubt!

I called SCT and they fix my issues with software and hardware recognition.
