SCT BDX Not Working

I have an SCT BDX tuner, and I recently went to change tunes and was met with an error message (attached below). I've contacted the support and was told that it's a "fatal error" and that I need to send it in. I've also tried to connect to my laptop to try and update it but windows doesn't even detect the device, which I thought was strange since it turns on when plugged in. I figured I'd ask on here to see if anyone has had this happen and figured out how to fix it, any help is appreciated.

That's what I was thinking but I don't know how to update it since my computer wont detect it, and it's stuck on that screen so I cant do it on the tuner itself.
