I don't see the scratch.try a good plastic polish.i use this
https://www.amazon.com/NOVUS-PK1-8O...-Bottles/dp/B0029B518O/ref=asc_df_B0029B518O/

Wolfgang makes a good one too.use a very light touch with a clean micro towel
Too hard and you'll make it worse

It is a aprox 1/8”-1/16” deep gouache out of the pms tic. So yes there is damage and needing sone kind of repair unless I just leave it. I know there is something to make it better / improve on what is there. If you have experience with this type of damage please.
Thank you

I'm not sure how much a plastic polish will do for something like that. I'd probably take a razor blade and carefully clean up the raised or loose areas and follow up gently with a heat gun. This certainly wont repair it, but should minimize it.

Now I see the scratch
Good idea to use a blade to take off edges then use polish sarting with #3.then 2 then 1.if you took off some paint you'll need some touch up before attempting a polish

The problem is that it's a textured plastic piece, not painted. I would be worried that a polish would begin to remove the texture, drawing more attention to the area.

You can get textured paint in car shops that is used for repairs on that. You'll often need to finish up with a Back to Black product or similar around the whole car to get it to match (after a little natural fading has occurred).

If you use the lightest grade polish it'll barely take off whatever you got rubbed onto the paint.you don't need a heavy duty compound. Although looking at the damage it looks like the scratch is deep and goes thru the paint.if that's the case your only options are to try touch up paint on the whole so it'll match.or find a pristine piece off a junk yard car.or buy a ne we one.if it were me I'd try the plastic polish and if didn't work I'd get new one.otherwise you'll be staring at that every time your near the car.
