Hey Y'all,
Picking up my GT tomorrow morning and I have already started doing research on the aftermarket parts scene.
One thing I see a lot of members doing is a "cold air intake" which is really just a cone filter with an opened airbox. I can't imagine this possibly doing anything at all for performance. On a car with more downstream engine modifications, sure, but on a stock car it's just gonna let you hear the engine more.
I've been doing lots of hunting and searching for subjective dyno-backed reviews but can't seem to find a whole lot of Stock vs CAI. Everything I find is mostly a car that has headers, exhaust, and a tune.
Does anyone know of a reference to basic, 100% stock vs 100% stock + air intake performance numbers?
Also I could be 100% wrong on all of this so please correct me if I am. I'm jaded by most intake companies and for the most part believe it to be snake oil.
