What about 18s just on the rear? The resultant negative rake would take a little weight off the front and keep the investment lower as well......in theory.

Stuff like that I've found really hard to tell the difference. Two reasons, one is fear the ABS computer will freak out and engage prematurely. Second is for the "free" lowering.

I think by having a negative rake, you are going to make the car more prone to understeer.

Yes in theory it should promote understeer and hurt aero.

But it wouldn't change weight front to rear hardly at all. If you every play with a car on scales with adjustable perches you can do a lot for cross weights and nearly zero relative front to rear.

Car will be ugly on 18s with low profile tires. If it's fast I won't car. I will however not sue these for street due to the odometer/looks.
if you would like i can sell you my fs legal cf5s :)

Tom drives a miata now.

I also have CF5s for sale in PP sizes wrapped in nearly new RE71s. I drive a Z06 now so I won't be needing them.
