More testing today, as we wanted to find the limit of the factory fuel pump with our supplied JMS Chip Fuel Max (Boost-A-Pump).

Well, we found it at 15 PSI, lol....

Still on 93 octane, we added 5 gallons of unleaded race gas for safety and turned up the boost in 1 PSI increments until we ran out of fuel.

Roughly 850whp on Gasoline is the limit of the 2015+ factory fuel pump with a Boost-A-Pump based on our findings today.

With that said, I wouldn't ever recommend running anything to 100% of its capability, so I'd say 800whp is probably as far as you should push things on the factory pump.

It has been shared with me by JMS that they have seen some cavitation in the 2015 pumps when pushed to their max, which they blamed on the pumps being overspun through voltage. I would suggest it's quite possibly the pump is simply overheating and therefore causing the cavitation effect. We have seen this heavily in the R35 GTR world, so I'm familiar with the cause and effect.

Today, we didn't experience any cavitation effect, but we did see our Short Term Fuel Trims rising under boost at 850whp, letting us know the pump could simply not keep up with our A/F fueling targets being commanded.

At 15 PSI on 93 octane mixed with unleaded race gas, the car put down 854whp!

That's 490whp gain over stock through our automatic transmission.

This car continues to impress.

That's 1000 HP at the crank territory on a 100% unopened factory motor besides TSS Oil Pump Gear!

Up next, we will be testing E85, and I suspect we'll cross our 800whp goal on even less boost with better spool equating to more torque from the added timing we can run.

Stay tuned, things are just now starting to get interesting....

Hell yes! This is awesome! Thanks for finding limits and pushing it to the extremes.

This kit really is going up on my list of favorite/must have force induction kits. With the addition of the wide body kit to my mustang, I am pretty much giving up all reason to ever try and go back to stock haha. Still quite a ways from needing more power (and being able to afford it), but with this kit developing as it is, it might be the one for me in the future. Miss the days of boost on my WRX.

We're going to switch the car over to E85 after Bowling Green this weekend.

Test these turbo's on E85, then test the PTE 55558 and report back.

These PTE 6266 turbos will spool much quicker I feel confident on E85, which is my preferred fuel of choice when available.

Chris, will you be offering your kit with Gen 2 Turbos or will the Gen 2 be optional?

Thanks for the opportunity to be involved in such a badass project! I can't wait to see how it does with some E85 in the tank!

Thought for sure I saw you had a set of oil pump gears in it. Maybe I'm wrong.
Doh! Edited, good catch ;)

Blaming it on the grey hair, lol.

They will 100% be optional, maybe standard.

At the level of the factory motor, I don't think you're going to see much, if any, in the way of gains over the standard PTE6266 BB.

Dyno testing has confirmed them to be nearly identical until you reach very high boost pressures.

On pump gas, you're just spending money.

If you plan to push 1200+, I'd say it's probably worth considering

The only change is the compressor wheel aero which is more efficient at high boost pressures.

Me too buddy, very happy with the car thus far.

E85 is going to be crazy and to me, the more impressive data to share.

But we need to prove it at the track.

I hate bench racing dyno numbers.

See you in Bowling Green this weekend ;)

LOL I agree. I'm not really a dyno fan. My last car went 8.68@156 without ever being anywhere near a dyno facility. After it went 8s, I put it on the rollers on 10psi just to see what it would do but that's it. Track is my second home.

Yeah, we need to see what the BB PTE5558 can do on the stock motor.

They are here and ready to swap in after Bowling Green.

We might find they are the better pump gas turbo. To be determined.

Looking forward to next weeks testing ;)

Tweaking cam timing and lowering the boost 1 PSI to keep the factory fuel pump happy, the car picked up almost 75wtq @4500 RPM.

Midrange has substantially improved and the car is now making a maximum of 13.8 PSI.

This is as far as I would push the factory fuel system with an Injector + BAP upgrade.

Chris, with 7psi, what power range do you think you will see with this kit?

I can't see any reason to run less than 10 PSI, even on 91 octane, with conservative timing. (700whp)

But @ 7 PSI, probably 600whp on gasoline and 650whp on E85.

We're seeing about 35whp per 1 PSI of boost on the 6266 on gasoline.

We'll be testing E85 in the next few weeks.
