I have no knowledge about what the 2015 will have, but I do know Ford has been working on a mechanical hybrid system (storing energy by rotating a flywheel). To me, this kind of hybrid makes the most sense for a sports car or a truck. As the Mustang and F-150 have related powertrains and are going to new models next year, maybe a mechanical hybrid model/option would be available if the system is ready. Although, if Lincoln gets a car off the Mustang platform it might be a good way to differentiate the Mustang and the related Lincoln by providing the Lincoln with a standard mechanical hybrid system.

Tech I could see a point for:

Smartphone connectivity
Adjustable gauge cluster
Heated/cooled seats
Power seats with A GODDAMN MEMORY BUTTON
All LED lighting
Real time telemetry would be cool
Thin, supportive, light seats
Fully defeated traction control
High quality, light stereo

Tech we don't need:

"Crash avoidance"
Dual view screens
Parking assist
Blindspot assist (keep the fisheye mirror corners)
Heavy, 'bumpin' stereo
LED eyebrows
Hybrid powertrain

Also, they can put however many gears they want into the slushboxes. I still won't give a damn. :D

Ageed on all points except I want my system to hit. As an option of course, I know it adds weight. That and the "track pack" would be the only two options I select. I don't need it to shake me out of the car, but my mach 460 isn't doing it for me. Again option though, I believe in stripped down performance models (lx notch back 5.0 yesss)

For me, power of the stereo doesn't do much. I have shitty hearing anyway from years of drums. I'm more impressed when the vehicle has a sense of refinement, like my Mazda. With the windows up, I can keep the stereo turned down and still hear everything. The speakers have better response and dynamic range than other cars I've been in where you have to turn the stereo all the way up to hear everything.

I would love that too as long as the highs and lows as well as the MIDS can all be heard. Like I said my 460 just isn't doing for me anymore. I get what your saying for sure.

I love technology and all but not when it sacrifices performance and dynamics of a car. The pony cars were meant to be drivers cars, not luxy barges.

Give us the tech upgrades that help performance and the driving experience (adjustable gauges, telemetry info, HUD, etc.) but leave off things like parking assist, crash assist, parking / blind spot cameras etc.

I just want MyFord Touch to work with an iPhone.... sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't in my 14 Focus Titanium. I spend more time messing with My Ford Touch and it's Bluetooth capabilities. It is very distractive when it doesn't work. The voice recognition is terrible when you are on a noisy road. If the windows are down it is useless. So to make a phone call I still have to look at the phone and touch it to make a call. IMHO My Ford Touch needs to go... Microsoft products just don't work for odd reasons, both in cars and on computers.

It's not just computerization of cars that is the problem... it's WEIGHT and COST!

Come on do we really need parking assistance, "pre collision assist" and "wellness" features on a Mustang? I really wanna know how much safer all of these new safety features have made driving. Especially if they also include dual displays that can play movies or the ability to share performance stats via social networking..... really?? Who is doing this kind of stuff in a car? 16 year old girls?
Responding to old post, but...

If by parking assist you mean backup camera, yeah, that's a 100% absolutely phenomenal thing to have. Personally, I'd like to also have a front camera, but I guess that'll have to be in a future car.

My rear bumper on my current car is all scraped and scratched up from parallel parking every day, as is my front splitter from hitting curbs in front of parking spaces. When you're in place where parking is tight -- where I parallel park every night, I almost never have more than six inches between me and cars in front of / behind me -- little bumps and stuff just happen. It's incredibly useful to know when you're about to hit something.

I'm personally glad about the backup camera... cool; but also glad about the absent of the Intelligent parking Assist system, similar to the Toyota Prius and etc..... Parallel parking is quite easy, as long as you don't rush and you have enough of a space to do it with confidence and a smart attitude....

And I live in England. Try driving in the cities, let alone parking in London.....It all seems impossible to do. It's one of the craziest thing I've ever witnessed since I moved here.
