S550 Specs - educated extrapolation (2015 and 2018 model)

And I am taking a guess at the "RS" designation. I think it's high time to drop the Shelby name, since Shelby never had anything to do with the car anyway except licensing the name.
RS for the 2.3? Doesnt seem strange to have a new badge for what you expect to be the base and the v6 (current base) is badge-less above it?

How exactly do you mean that Shelby had nothing to do with these cars other than selling the rights to use the name? You are referring to the modern day gt500 right? The 60-70s models were actually built by Shelby American.

No reason to badge a base model obviously so the 2.3 is either going to be the base and without a badge, or have a badge and be the base option above the v6.

As far as the shelby, I dont care who badges it or is responsible for the actual production. Just as long as it's a stock car that I can buy straight from Ford and not send off to Shelby. If that means making it "officially" part of Ford then get it done.

BTW, one big benefit of the new IRS will be a considerably reduced amount of brake dive. The current car has ridiculous brake dive, absurd, - as shown here:

Same exact spot in my 2003 Cobra and you'd barely notice the brake dive. And that's a very nose heavy car. The IRS will allow the S550 driver to do what is needed coming into a turn, instead of having to compensate for the sudden "front wheel drive attributes" of the car.
You wonder why the Mustang is doing so poorly in the Continental series? This is one big reason. None of it's competition has this problem. Once the Mustangs there got something to compete against other than themselves, the story doesn't look so good anymore.

Yea the stock suspension is crap. It doesnt handle hard braking or any kind of road imperfections like potholes, speed bumps etc well at all. The forward suspension dive and body roll is pretty bad and same with the nose lift under hard acceleration. I'm hoping a lighter redesigned front coupled with the IRS and possible weight shift rearward will help with this. At the least, the turbo 4 should be a real good handler.

There WON'T be an Ecoboost V6 in the Mustang. Also, don't expect a variety of materials like the chart suggests. A luxury package isn't likely either.

You're posting on this site and honestly asking for a source? That's hilarious.

If the rumors hold true, we'll see:

3.7 V6 - base
2.3 I4 - base option
5.0 V8 - GT
V8 - SVT

The TTV6 and TTV8 are vaporware that every Mustang fanboy jumps on because they think it'd be cool. They don't take real world situations into consideration.

What real world situations are you referring to with with regard to a TTV8? I can see why there wont be a TTV6 - because it overlaps too much with the V8 - but something will have to replace the current GT500 motor.

What's actually hilarious is no one else here is making unequivocal claims in all caps that we WILL or WONT see certain engines. It's all debate. And unless you got a blue oval on your chest, I dont wanna hear about good vs. bad info -- it's all BS until we see it. But I am curious what kind of "real world situations" you're referring to. It's just cost and engineering. They can do anything with enough money and motivation.
