Does anyone know if there will ACTUALLY be a 'body in white' S550??

I've read the dozen or so articles spanning from late 2013 thru mid-2014 about the body in white w/a 9" rear. I also read somewhere that Ford Racing announced their Body in White program vehicles at previous PRI shows. I've not heard anything from this PRI show which started 12/11 I believe. I would think this would be pretty big news for the Mustang community, so my fear is that this has been yanked or shelved???

Second thing that scares me is that there is no mention (that I can find) on Mustang6G of the body in white...with this being the premiere S550 site (is there any other???), I would think I could find something more than the recirculated news out there....

Thanks...

Maybe because it doesn't exist? Like you said it was a rumor from a while back and Ford has never mentioned it.

If they do proceed with their Body in White Program, lets hope they choose any Color White besides their decades old Truck utility paint color Oxford White, C`Mon Man!

Watson had some E coated bare bodies in the shop. Unsure if they have a program to sell them. But they are out there

That's promising...thanks!!

I really don't want to buy a base car just to strip it down and make a road racer out of it.....plust that's pretty darn expensive! And fighting all the sharks in the pool of wrecked/damaged S550's is going to be tiresome.... still got my fingers crossed...

Not to mention dealing with sound deadening and air bags. BIW is the way to go. Heck, I'd want to build a street car out of one. :D

Nothing exciting
Could always send a PM to the Ford Service gals and see if they can answer your question.

I got the impression that they only dealt w/dealer service problems, but I will give that a try. Didn't think it through until reading your post... have to keep trying

Usually a BIW doesn't have a VIN, so a street car is out.....

SEE!! There's always a rational headed one in the crowd spoiling the fun!!

(but so very true, and I'm wayyy to old to be taking a risk like that)

I am now thinking that I'd like to get a BIW for my race car AND a similarly painted/appearance street car... ;)
