..with a Stone (coloured) top ...

As an owner of both a tan and a black convertible top, I will never again get any color besides black for a convertible top. It is impossible to keep light colored tops clean, no matter what the cleaning products say.

i tried it, to do it so close i can to ruby red, and the result you saw ;)

in defence i would say

a) Looks Kind of beaten up: well, the original pic Chris took to work with

had that wrinkled top (but being black, the top did not Show off those wrinkles so dramatically)

b) Looks Kind of dirty: well, it is difficult to hit the colour "Stone" on the spot.

1st the Name is misleading, as most of us expect Stone to look Kind of Grey...

the "Stone"-coloured top of the 2014 Mustang vert

is not Grey.

the Name Stone seems to have "Sandstone"-meaning

Long Story - short...

the "Stone"-coloured soft-top of the Mustang is not as Grey as you could expect when you hear the word Stone, and it is not as Brown as the "tan" (beige) top of the 5th gen Camaro vert...
it is somewhere in between, more like "sand" in the word "Sandstone"

I wasn't knocking his skills, even he said it didn't turn out so well. It was the Wrinkles that made it look "Dirty" and beat up to me not the "Stone" color. I know Stone because My Dad's last F-250 had Stone Leather interior. I think light colored tops look nice when new, but rarely stay nice looking over time.

It's all just a creative exercise for now as the 2015 will not offer anything but a black cloth top.

a Stone top in a perfect condition will be an eyecatcher...
but it will be a pain in the a.. to Keep it looking perfect

btw: i wonder how they (Ford) will solve this Problem
if the top is lowered, you see a part of it between the covers of the bows...
the showcar (take a look at the magnetic thread) to top is black, the bow-covers are black, and the sidewalls (behind the doors and in front of the bows) are black; so far so good

now take a light coloured top, what will be the bow-covers
if they are light, too, they will match the uncovered part of the top, but the light coloured bow-covers will not match the black sidewalls...

take black bowcovers, they will match the sidewalls, but not the top
