RUBY RED GT350/R Thread

I just got back from a dealer that has a 2017 slot. I like ruby-red and the sales person said that a pick up in the show room was ruby red. It looked a lot lighter than the pictures on this forum. I went to the Ford site a looked at a GT in ruby red and it was as dark as the pictures posted here of the 2017 350. Same when I configured a pickup. It makes me think it will not be as dark as I hoped. Anyone here have a Ruby Red GT or something similar?

I was just trying to help this guy^ out, since he was asking about the actual characteristics of the color. There's lots of photos in that thread of the color in many different lighting situations, so yeah it is pretty helpful.

Thank you, but if you notice, the convertable image is more orange, that looks like the truck in the dealership that I was told was Ruby Red. It was not terrible but not as dark as I want. The light changes this a lot, most of the other pictures on the link looked very nice, they were much darker.

Ruby red is definitely dark if its overcast outside or if its sitting in a dealership showroom. In the direct sunlight it really pops, looks to have some gold mixed in with it.

Was at a local dealer to check out colors, was hoping to see some lightning blue in other models and Ruby Red. Only saw Ruby Red... it is brighter in person than you would expect. Was sunny and warm out and so it does have some pop to it. here are some pics (sorry if they're not oriented correctly):

Thanks very much. I went to a dealer today as well and looked at a bunch of different cars with Ruby Red from an Escape to a Mustang (eco boost). In any case it was a bit overcast today but they all looked good and in line with what you posted. This helped me make my decision. I am going to go with RR, no stripe and a black roof.

I found a reasonably local dealer that will sell me there second allocation anytime I want.

Finally found what appears to be Ruby Red, with black stripes and white accents; found it for sale on ebay as a Mustang Roush Supercharged Street Fighter Drag Pack 780HP http://r.ebay.com/vrJ7ab

Beautiful color combination, I glad I ordered it for my GT350.

Man that GT350 in Ruby Red looks nice. And the flat black stripes with white accents looks good on a ruby red.

But I'm a bit partial to this color.

Like others have said, when it's overcast, ruby red is kind of dark. But oh let the sunshine hit it and pow! :cheers:

Nothing, looks like avalanche is the closest option but will be on the Raptor also.

Comp O and Triple Yellow are mustang only...so also close but no cigar.

Now the ruby red gt350 with black stripes would be the ultimate combo but man what a "badging/nameplate failure" in my opinion. The 2014 style badging would have been awesome..

Until I saw these images I had pretty much decided to go with RR with a black roof. This is making me rethink this a bit. Other than fading, one thing about stripes like this is that if you wax the car they are always a problem because of wax build up along the edges. I have never found a simple way of dealing with this.

Thanks for posting and obviously Jamal and myself like exactly the same colors.

I am sure that his chassis number is much lower than my "HR019" but having said that I am very happy with my early chassis number.

I just saw in another thread that ford.com has been updated with 2017 models. I configured a RR with a black roof and added the black stripes with white trim. I was leaning toward not getting the stripe, but now that I see it, I am not. I might just get it or add the black roof as well.

Anyway back to trying to find a place that will order one for me without silly ADM.
