Roush sounds damn good! After hearing it in person, it has been my personal favorite.

When I was shopping for my car this summer, the salesman took us into the service bay to start up one of two 2014 Roush cars. Brap-bap-bap!!! Can you say Race Car? :D

Seriously, though, that would be too loud for me as a DD. But I am uncertain as to what is changed exhaust-wise on a full Roush car.
And yes, the stock 15/16 GT exhaust is just a tad too quiet to satisfy anyone who is even a mild enthusiast.

GTP - Roush axle-back only with stock resonator in place...I would rate it a 2-3 on your scale.

But everyone's sound tolerance is different. I think it's just right.

Same here. No way the Roush AB by themselves are a 4. 3 is being a little generous. I'd say 2. 4 Would be Roush w/ Catback. 5 Would be Roush w/Catback no cats.

Thanks to all.

Seems like the resonator is part muffler in itself, yes? (I am a noob to exhaust systems.)
Also, no drone for the Roush AB +OEM resonator, yes?
No, the resonator is the large rectangular shaped piece of the exhaust in front of the rear wheels in the middle of the car. The Roush axle-back just changes the mufflers.

I think he is acting if the resonator acts like a muffler. In that case, yes it does. It is more so to kill the resonant frequencies which can cause drone. Hence the term "resonator."

I am running the Roush AB with resonator and there is no drone whatsoever. It's actually quite tame inside the car with the windows up, thanks to the sound deadening in the S550s

Yes, this. They could have called in the Anti-resonator. :)

Yes, I agree with how smooth and quiet is the car as a grand tourer. We took a 1200 mile vacation trip to Ashville during Thanksgiving week, including some twisty passes through the Appalachians, and it was terrific.

So, Roush AB on my scale of 2-3, keep the resonator, and an easy swap sounds like the perfect $600 solution for me. I like the round cans, and polished angled tips, plus it is 304 SS.

Sorry, my bad. Yeah the resonator really keeps the volume in check..it is in effect a large muffler I guess.

Another great thing about the Roush like you mentioned is the round shape and the tips are adjustible!

Yep the install was very easy also. Took maybe a 1/2 hour total taking my time. Contact some of the vendors on here, I got mine for way less than $600

Great thread, I ended up going with the Roush axle backs and they are awesome!! I'm sure the steeda sounds great too but I'm very happy with the Roush. Louder deeper and aggressive but no drone and great for a daily driver. Regardless no videos do the exhaust any justice at all, sounds much deeper and not raspy in person. I took an iPhone vid and it sounded terrible. Just buy it if you are considering it!! Forum sponsors can get you a really great price, thanks Lethal!

Just wanted to say that I added the Roush Axle-backs this week, took all of 30 minutes to install, and it's exactly what the Dr ordered. Perfect street manners, zero drone, perfect growl around town, I had the tips painted black and I'm finally happy.....till someone comes out with a less $ active exhaust of course.
