How long do you think it'll be before we see the first Roush/Saleen/Shelby S550s hit the streets after the stock production car?

I'm aware they are usually given key product details (entire cars though??) a while before the initial production cars are released in order that their own development can get underway. Given how secretive Ford are being with S550, do you think that will still be the case?

Roush were pretty quick off the mark with their '13MYs Stage cars, although as it was based in the existing S197 platform, I guess that makes life a lot easier for them.

One of the two you mentioned, does a lot of engineering for Ford....so that should give you a hint of who may have an inside track on getting their version of the Gen 6 Mustang to market in a very timely fashion.

Anyone remember when the first one came out for the S197? Was it the first year?

My guess would be Roush will be first, if only based on the fact that there were 2 sightings of the test cars leaving their facilities.

Saleen has done engineering for Ford too. Granted the company is rebuilding from the whole Steve Saleen leaving and coming back so it might be a while before we see a S550 from them. My guess is Roush as well.

When I was at Steeda Ford gave us a prototype to measure and create parts for.

Bumping this one........

Given it's now expected we won't see GT350 until next summer (even if that IS a '15MY), I guess there's a very good chance we'll see Roush, Saleen or even Shelby American products before we see SVT's GT350.

I was reading the Feb edition of Mustang Monthly (review of the '14 Shelby GT) and it was mentioned there, that Shelby American's first S550 car is "under development".

Also, at the Vegas 50th celebration, Saleen had an advert for their S550 showing it "coming soon".........wish I'd taken a photo, sorry!

Either way, I'm just anxious to see all these aftermarket S550s :D

On a related note I also can't wait to see all the modified S550's we're sure to see at SEMA this year. I know JGM has already indicated he worked on a design proposal.

He also has posted a message on his profile that has me very excited. Hopefully he lets us in on the secret in May.

Thanks. I have something new I'm finishing up today. Me and close friend who owns a shop who I've designed and help build about a dozen or so new OEM SEMA cars with are working on a proposal to Ford for a new 2015 Mustang for this year's show. This will be my finest work to date. I'm very proud of this extreme design and render I've done. We will be competing with thousands I know but we're hoping to be awarded a car from Ford to build up for SEMA this year. I won't be able to post anything up until May this year after we find out who's awarded the car. Either way I will post is after.

Am a Roush dealer, they will be building a Stage 1 and Stage 2 for 2015. CARB cert. is needed for Stage 3..which will take some time. Their TVS blower can be installed
on 2015 engine by authorized dealer or certified shop..but not yet by them at their
plant.

I read somewhere that Steve Saleen has mentioned October/November when somebody asked him at the Charlotte show.

Yes, that was me. He actually said between October, and December though.
I would think closer to December.
