Anyone switch from an xpipe to an h with roush axle backs ?

Just wondering if switching to an h pipe will help bring down the rasp at all or if it's the same.

I have it with the x and it's just a little too much - trying to bring it down a notch.

I was fighting it sooo bad, I am now in the market for a Roush axle back to go along with my resonated h-pipe with cat deletes. I love how the Roush gurgles and pops, and it does have a low deep tone on idle too. :ford:

Pm sent. I have this for sale over near Cocoa. Text for pic. Can't get it to upload. Or look on Orlando Craigslist under 2015 mustang h pipe.

I have the H-pipe and Roush Axlebacks, I've heard the X-Pipe in person with the axlebacks as well. For the lower half of the RPM band, it's about the same, but on the higher end, it has a deeper less raspier tone to it.

I love the H-pipe with the Roush ABs, it's a winning combination imo.

Honestly you can't go wrong with either an X or an H-pipe, they both sound great paired with the Roushes.

Thanks for the replies.
Main question is if the h pipe would lower the rasp from the x ?

The rasp is more evident on higher RPMs (3500+ RPMs). The H-pipe has nooticeably less rasp to it than the X-pipe. I've heard both side-by-side.

Below 3500 RPMs (daily driving), they are indistinguishable from one another, but there's not much rasp on lower RPMs to begin with (ignoring cold starts).

I have a Roush axleback with H pipe setup. I have heard the X pipe as well. I may be biased but I think mine does sound better, but as others have said the difference is in higher RPMs. I believe it has less raspiness.

I'm contemplating the possibility of getting a Roush AB. Wanted to know y'alls opinion before taking the plunge.

How loud is it with the resonator? How much louder does it get with the H-pipe?

Loudness aside, is it any deeper and bassier with or without H-pipe?

Honestly, I've been reluctant of the Roush plus resonator delete because of their reputation being the "golden standard of loudness". I wanted a loudness similar to the Borla S-type catback...would it be Roush with resonator?

I've heard the Borla S-types (catback) compared to my Roush AB + h-pipes and they're just as loud as each other. The Roush AB + h-pipe is slightly louder than the Borla S-type but only on higher rpms.

The axlebacks are not as loud as the S-type catbacks.

The x-pipe and h-pipe add a more "guteral" sound to the axlebacks.

Yup I had the Borla s-type and now Roush both with H pipe. It's just a little louder at idle than the s-type but man you step on it and the Roush is a lot louder. At just normal driving there around the same level. I think the Roush has a better tone.
