It's in your head... I feel the way about my catback lol
Thought I was going nuts but the added noise changes the driving perception. I too lost that 4k+ feeling. I think since its so damn loud I want it to be faster but its not so my brain says its slower. Glad I'm not the only crazy person :)

Electronic throttle body, automatic tranny, air filter...

All of those things can add together to making for some strangeness in where you felt the torque coming on with the stock setup. As for it being gone with the new exhaust, doesnt make sense.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Regardless, my overall driving experience definitely improved because of the sound. It's so hard to stay off the pedal now. I love the sound but already wanting more. I'm looking for a bit more pop and burble when slowing down and a more metallic sound when accelerating (think Corsa Extreme). Has any one gone with Roush axle-back with Corsa double-x pipe? I'm thinking this might be closest to what I'm looking for without the price of Corsa extreme. Has anyone tried this? Thoughts?

Do you still have the suitcase (resonator) ? I had the Roush mufflers with a Ford racing X pipe for a few days. Snap crackle pop - big time. Every time I let off the throttle it sounds like NASCAR backfiring. Too much for me, but might be what you're looking for. I'm putting a Magnaflow resonator in to temper the beast a little.
