Just buy a US tune and flash it on the car, why be the guinea pig and let some guy who has never seen one of these before tune your car?

Get one of the well established us firms to sort you a tune like LUND or Steeda, so many to chose from who know these cars far better.

When I go supercharged I shall load on the Whipple tune and my only reason to visit the dyno will be to check AFR and see what power she is making.:)

I guess... Would rather put it on a dyno if possible

Lund seem to be the best otherwise

I have worked out the AFR ratios at WOT, Lambda, MAF etc with a friend on the forum, I know what I want ;)

A word of caution. The US calibration and the Euro calibration on the stock car are quite different. I don't know that this will be a problem though I expect it may.
When you install a tune the file that is applied to the car isn't the whole calibration just the changes from the stock tune. If the US and Euro calibrations store data in different memory locations it may mean that the new tune won't load properly over the stock calibration.

We will be taking the Whipple tune and establishing what (if any) changes we need to make to ensure it is compatible with the Euro car.

One would think it will be fine.
Reason being the ECU stores data in certain ways.

Example the part of the ECU that is responsible for the engine map is separate say than the part of the ECU controlling the infotainment system or speedo/tyre pressures etc.

So a tune should write to the part of the ECU where the engine map is and as a UK/USA car is identical on engine, exhaust in everyway except the header then it should be fine. You just need to specify Octane 91 if fuelling you car with unleaded, seriously hope no one will do this and Octane 93 if your putting in super unleaded and ideally Vpower/Nitro. :)

Based on this a UK car flashed to a tuned USA map should gain a whole load of power, potentially as high as 40-50BHP as long as you have the CAI to go with such as Steeda one which seems best. :)

Its a performance car, that cost quite a bit of money, why would you put shit fuel in it?
Because its designed to run on fuel that's of a lower grade than the stuff you describe as shit. As I remember it from the Europe forum discussion the performance difference between grades in the GT is fairly small - about 1-2% (though much more significant in the EB). Fuel economy gains are negligible and most other modifications would wipe them out.

Don't get me wrong I may well use premium myself but like most things I intend to suck it and see.

My interest in the Mustang is long-standing though more for what it looks and sounds like. For what it is. I will never use it to its full capacity. So when you say you seriously hope no one uses unleaded I'm interested in your thoughts why.

Revo now have their mustang ecoboost so they will have a map soon.. A stage one on a focus ST took it up to 291 bhp from 250 and another 80 torque for 300-400 quid

I have been looking into the UK and USA calibrations and they are different. I know to 12 different calibrations for both 2.3 and V8.
As soon as i have a UK vehicle and determine which calibration we are running in the UK i will be able to start work on the calibration.
I do have a V8 Mustang on order which i intend installing a Whipple Supercharger and then working on the calibration to suit the UK car.
My advise would be to hangfire until a UK car has been run on a UK Dyno logging all the data.

If anyone has a car and would like a free power run and data logging session then let me know. I have a MAHA MSR500 4WD Rolling Road and would love to see a UK Mustang.

I am located in Birmingham West Midlands
