Working on some things in that arena. ;)

As of right now I tell people:

1: Take the BMR bearing and your RLCA to a shop and let them do the dirty work on their press for very minimal cash out of pocket

2: Acquire a bushing R&R tool.....which is a royal PITA IMO.

3: Contact Chuck at C&D Autotech and take advantage of his services.
I did number 1 and it was $35 a press :eyebulge:. Had BMR RLCA and Ford's Toe link bearings to be pressed in. For $140, I would have just gotten a Harbor Freight press and mount it in a garage. Only issues was, I have no garage and space for it unfortunately.

The housing is essentially a non flanged, press in only design like the first one we ever developed and tested almost 3 years ago. Still have that set on our 2015 development track car actually.

So now I have the BK055 on my 1200hp racecar, and installed the BK081 on my Performance Pack Daily Driver / track car.

RLCA bearings for everyone!

I cannot get the bushing out. I had the tool installed just like the instructions show it and the thrust bearing and washers broke. It was even bending the steel plate:headbang: I removed the broken bearing and tried again with the steel plate flipped over and all it did was straighten it back out.

had exact same issue on one of my arms - the tool broke the same way. 200 ton press was the answer in my case.

I going to take them to a shop now:eyebulge:
You could try cutting the old bushings out with an air saw too. Just be really careful to not cut into the control arm.

I will just take them to a shop and have it done. Now to see if I can get my money back on this tool that cannot do the job.

If you bought it direct from us, shoot me an email to [email protected] with your info.

Thanks!

Take it to a shop man. They won't charge you much of anything to do it. Let someone with the proper tools handle this job.

Anybody know if a ball joint press could be used to remove the LCA bearing.
