RIP Eddie Van Halen

Eddie Van Halen died today after a long battle with throat cancer at 65y/o.

He was mostly credited with inventing the tapping technique for electric guitar.

He was introduced to the world when Van Halen's debut album released in 1978, still to this day one of the best hard rock debuts ever imo.

was fortunate to see him in all the band’s variation with all three lead singers, DLR, GS, SH, and saw his son Wolfgang play once.

Wolfgang, if you closed your eyes, you’d swear you were listening to his dad play. He learned from the best !

Saw him live in concert in Oakland, CA in 1979. Never will forget his performance. David Lee Roth, not so much. Had a chance to see them a few years ago, but didn't want to change the memory of that original concert. Can't imagine anyone will ever dethrone him.

One of my favorite bands. R.I.P. Eddie! Original Van Halen bassist Mark Stone passed away September 26, 2020. Sad to hear also.
