I managed to drop a pen in the smallest of gaps today, between the battery cover and the body (see image). Does anyone know where that goes or if it's easily retrievable? I don't really care about the pen, but I'd rather not have a loose pen under the car. It sounded like it landed flat (one "tink") and didn't play plinko on the way down, so I'm hoping it's not in a bad spot, but I couldn't easily find it.

I dropped a socket down there when installing my redline hood struts. If you pull back the wheel well liner from the bottom it should be down there. Just have to feel around.

I also had a screwdriver roll into the exact same spot. I just reached underneath and felt around while separating something & I could feel the screwdriver. No problem getting it out

this!! i dropped a nut when doing my hood struts in there. you can either feel around from under the car or pop the 3 pins out of the fender liner and reach right in. i had to use a telescoping magnet to get the nut out as it was way back in there :ford:

Thanks. I still couldn't feel around and get it. I'm sure if I took the wheel off and got under there while it was on stands, I could have found it, but I was already scheduled to have it in to flush the brakes ahead of a track day this weekend, so I just had them retrieve it while it was on the lift.

A bag of latex gloves fell through there while doing my oil change last weekend. I was able to pull back the wheel well liner from the bottom and reach in to get it.
