Hey guys, I just got some tire stickers about a week ago and I absolutely love them. However, I've been trying to be extremely careful with making sure I don't damage then by getting some type of chemical from one of my cleaning products on them.

However, they're now turning a weird pink color in some areas. I'm guessing a little bit of my wheel cleaner got on them or this water based tire shine still contained something that hurt them.

Have any of you guys ever tried plastidipping tire stickers? Or tried painting them? It's really annoying that despite trying to be careful, I still somehow messed them up.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here's how it looks now on one of the tires:

I used to use comet with bleach to clean my with letter tires on a tire scrub brush. They where white as new still at 60k miles. Also kept the tires clean and black as new. Not sure how stickers would hold up to brushing though.

Very interesting. I'm gonna give that a try first. Much appreciated! Were your letters painted on?

Barkeepers friend and a sponge.
Or SoftSrcub and your fingertip.

Worked like a charm on the Comp T/A's on my Trans Am.

Sounds great. Going to add this to the list of things to try too. Thanks man!

Tried comet with bleach today. It helped but didn't really get rid of the discoloration. I'm going to try plastidipping them this evening sometime.

Hey Alton, have you tried Mr. Clean Magic Erasers? I haven't used them on tire stickers but feel like they would.

Just some FYI,

Just happened to bring this up while talking with a group of friends and one of them had a Markal Valve Action Paint Marker (https://www.amazon.com/Markal-Action-Liquid-Marker-Bullet/dp/B004N84D08?th=1) laying around that he gets for free. I tried it and it looks like it'll do the trick. Got caught up in the rain during a 1.5hr drive, got back home, and still looks brand new.

While I know it's such a small and stupid thing, it makes a pretty nice difference on the car IMHO. It'll be nice to not have to be very sensitive around the letters when cleaning the tire, wheel, and even the fenders.

Pics for those who may be interested:
