3 years and 400 miles...Sounds like its a bill of sale only vehicle which is a completely different ball game when it comes to trading up and depreciation.
Either way I'm gonna post a pic so numbnuts will look even more like a fool. I'm away from my computer but stay tuned. Can't wait to hear his crying about it being photoshopped.

Typical freakin internet douche troll he is. He'll be crying to the mods I assure you.

Let me keep this simple.....You're an idiot. STFU and go away cupcake.
Look in the mirror pal. I'm one of 3 people who called you out on your BS numbers. All you've offered in response is childish banter. Telling us to blow each other and calling our cars ugly. It's you who is the idiot.

Cupcake, eh? Let me guess...you bench 500, bro?

How did you get $29,500 for a used 2013 Base GT in late 2015? There is no way a dealership would give that much for the trade in. KBB says its only worth $23-24k at best. Just curious on how you made that deal.
I think Darren must have some serious dirt on the GM there...haha
So you paid $6000 in 2010, $9000 in 2012, $5500 in 2015 to switch cars..

On average, ~$2500 each year for ~8 years, not including the 1st car purchase price. So maybe you're beating depreciation in the short term and losing to it in the long term, so you can have different cars every couple years? And somehow I doubt you're getting the exact car you want every time, but the last one on the lot. How is that a good deal?

You'd probably be better off leasing. :headbonk:

To each their own, but I don't envy you. You're playing the dealership's game. Its like betting against the house - even when you win one, you're still losing in the long run.

If you kept the one car you loved for 10 years, you'd be ahead financially.
So you bought the car brand new from the dealer for $27.5k and then traded is back in, used, and they gave you $29,500 for it.

LOL, sorry but I call BS.
You are full of it. No way a dealer gave you $29.5k for a used, 3 year old base 2013 GT.

If they did they either made a huge mistake and/or are complete idiot's. You could buy that car cheaper when it was brand new. (As you did).
It's not impressive, it's BS ;)
Still wouldn't matter. I sold my 13 GT premium with 1729 miles on it for 26,500.00 and that was after driving it 3 hours to meet the new owner. I work at a dealership. I appraised the car with my sales manager for the NE region. IF it was bone stock I could have safely got 25,000.00 for it on a trade. But the car had LT's and ORX and would fail state inspection. So it would go to wholesale for 23,000.00. I didn't have the stock exhaust and didn't feel like spending money on high flows to trade the car. So I put it up for sale on s197. Found a buyer to get me my payoff which was 26,500.00. Which is a little less then what you find one on the lot for, but not by much. My car was just really clean with low miles. I know each region is different for appraisals per their respective markets, but if there was a difference for his region it wouldn't be by that much.

So yes, either the dealership Darren goes to is ran by a bunch of idiots (that's why math is important, stay in school kids, you WILL use it) Or as I suspect he has compromising pics of the GM lol.
Wow, you just went full Grade School mode. Listen, pal...the numbers you are throwing out are ridiculous, plain and simple. You can't expect people not to call BS.

And are you calling me numbnuts? Do I know you? I don't think I post much if any BS (other then when I am obviously joking) so I am not sure what warrants that comment. Oh and our cars are ugly? Yeah, you are definitely a man-child!

You are posting these numbers like this is what people should be getting for their trade-ins, or like you are some kind of Yoda at buying and selling.

The reality is that number is NOT EVEN CLOSE to what the actual trade-in value for the car was. You can't argue that fact.

Seriously a USED, 3 year old BASE 2013 GT for $29.5k trade-in...($2k more then it cost brand new) That's laughable.

Even if that deal actually happened (Which I still highly doubt) there would have had to have been VERY unique circumstances, that instead of disclosing you are choosing to take the coy, insulting and wanna bet route. :tsk:

We are missing two parts.

You said you got paid for your mods on the 2013. What mods did it have on it. I could see you getting 29250 on trade if it only had 400 miles on it and you had 10 grand in mods. That would mean your 37500 investment (27500 + 10k in mods) depreciated to 29250.

Part 2 is the purchase price of the 2015. The dealer would have given me more than kbb on my last trade but I just wouldn't have gotten as much off msrp on the new car. It's all a numbers game but in the end they always add up... unless you have pictures of the GM with a goat.

Haha. You already know I didn't call you a liar. I hope you know I certainly did not need to see proof. I was trying to funny with my statement that your dealership definitely took it deep in your deals haha. Thank you for the baked goods [emoji23]

That's a nice 2013 GT! No longer a $27500 base though. You bought a 27500 base and added a lot in parts and labor to make it a custom. Then they traded for the custom, not the base. I believe with the super low mileage the look of the total package you put together you could get the 29250 for a trade... But you didn't make money on it like I thought you were saying from an earlier post.

Kpod..............I was not trying to make money on ANYTHING. All I said was I got $29,500 for my '13 GT. I was not implying I made any money.

The mod list was quite long but I SCORED on parts in the forums for almost 50% off alot of them so I had OUT OF MY OWN POCKET around $3k I spent for mods.

Don't hate me just because I scored good prices for excellent mods. I got the wheels you see for $200 plus my OEM wagon wheels. Things like this.

I did every bit of the work myself. There was not a single scratch on the car ANYWHERE. I taped off EVERYTHING when I was putting the mods on the car. Headers?? I taped the engine bay off to protect from scratches while I put the headers on......this is just a small amt of info of the attention I paid to detail with the red car.
