That's impressive. I couldn't trade in my few month old GTPP premium 400a package car for 29500.... Unless they sold me the new car for 10k over msrp and then "gave me" more than what my current car is worth.

It's not impressive, it's BS ;)That's impressive. I couldn't trade in my few month old GTPP premium 400a package car for 29500.... Unless they sold me the new car for 10k over msrp and then "gave me" more than what my current car is worth.
What he neglects to mention is that car had 400 miles on it.You are full of it. No way a dealer gave you $29.5k for a used, 3 year old base 2013 GT.
If they did they either made a huge mistake and/or are complete idiot's. You could buy that car cheaper when it was brand new. (As you did).
Still wouldn't matter. I sold my 13 GT premium with 1729 miles on it for 26,500.00 and that was after driving it 3 hours to meet the new owner. I work at a dealership. I appraised the car with my sales manager for the NE region. IF it was bone stock I could have safely got 25,000.00 for it on a trade. But the car had LT's and ORX and would fail state inspection. So it would go to wholesale for 23,000.00. I didn't have the stock exhaust and didn't feel like spending money on high flows to trade the car. So I put it up for sale on s197. Found a buyer to get me my payoff which was 26,500.00. Which is a little less then what you find one on the lot for, but not by much. My car was just really clean with low miles. I know each region is different for appraisals per their respective markets, but if there was a difference for his region it wouldn't be by that much. What he neglects to mention is that car had 400 miles on it.![]()

So yes, either the dealership Darren goes to is ran by a bunch of idiots (that's why math is important, stay in school kids, you WILL use it) Or as I suspect he has compromising pics of the GM lol.
The data is always changing depending on how things change in the market. We use DealerSocket at work. It gives numbers from NADA, Black Book, and Manheim. You put in all the vehicle information and mileage. Each gives you a number based off the region you're in. Then you gives you adjustment numbers based off vehicle condition. And Manheim gives you previous comps from auctions so you know what to expect from wholesale. And what the change has been. Here is a screenshot of what we see using a random car. This also has Carfax and Autocheck tied into it.is there a specific percentage for depreciation?
wondering because I bought my 2015 v6 mustang for 22k, in an early post someone said low priced v6 will hold more value than GT's due to their low sticker price.
I'm not saying you're lying haha. I'm saying its crazy and not what others should expect. And I know you're lying about my cars being ugly because you said you liked them both and were looking for an Oxford before getting your Ingot haha. Just admit that your deals are not the norm lol.Ok. If I show you the worksheet with the trade in value will you both give each other a blowjob??????
You both are tools and I could prove my statements with a pic but you two HAVE to blow each other if I do. Just because y'all both have/had ugly cars, don't blame me for your selection.
Deal??

Any time you buy a new car that happens. But if you plan on keeping it for 10+ years there is no concern. The depreciation really hurts people who buy new cars every 5 years or so.I just checked KBB and the trade/resale values are unbelievable, especially for my specially ordered veh. MSRP on my car was 43360 in march 2015. KBB private sell is 34k & trade is 29k...wtf!! 10k drop in 8 months. This is very concerning for me. Gee, I will have to keep her based on those numbers. I have 10k on the car & it is loaded with the gtpp, ruby red ext. With redline interior/door inserts. Beautiful car!!! Dealer offered me 32k. Any of you have checked out your vehicle's values lately? You will be surprised/disappointed.:tsk:

Wow, you just went full Grade School mode. Listen, pal...the numbers you are throwing out are ridiculous, plain and simple. You can't expect people not to call BS.Just didn't want to be called a liar. I'd expect that from numbnuts
Discounts in everyday sales plays a huge part in a cars resale/trade value. When paying thousands less off MSRP has become the norm you can't gauge your value against MSRP any longer. My car was 40,090 MSRP. And it has less than 500 miles right now. If I said I will sell it for 38,000.00 people would just go buy a brand new one because it's an easy deal to be had. Why pay that for a used one. Regardless of miles. So if people don't respect MSRP when buying why would you compare that when selling or trading?Any time you buy a new car that happens. But if you plan on keeping it for 10+ years there is no concern. The depreciation really hurts people who buy new cars every 5 years or so.
Also, what did you pay on yours...if it was 43k I hope you got it for around 39K. That drop in $ is a lot less if you got a great deal.

And are you calling me numbnuts? Do I know you? I don't think I post much if any BS (other then when I am obviously joking) so I am not sure what warrants that comment. Oh and our cars are ugly? Yeah, you are definitely a man-child!
You are posting these numbers like this is what people should be getting for their trade-ins, or like you are some kind of Yoda at buying and selling.
The reality is that number is NOT EVEN CLOSE to what the actual trade-in value for the car was. You can't argue that fact.
Seriously a USED, 3 year old BASE 2013 GT for $29.5k trade-in...($2k more then it cost brand new) That's laughable.
Even if that deal actually happened (Which I still highly doubt) there would have had to have been VERY unique circumstances, that instead of disclosing you are choosing to take the coy, insulting and wanna bet route. :tsk:
3 years and 400 miles...Sounds like its a bill of sale only vehicle which is a completely different ball game when it comes to trading up and depreciation. What he neglects to mention is that car had 400 miles on it.![]()
