Hello All! First time post-er here, but have been soaking up information on this forum for several months now.

The day after I took my car home, I updated Sync (Base GT) to version 5.9. I have noticed a couple of things I would classify as software bugs and was wondering if anyone knew how to report these to Ford? I've found nothing through a few Google searches, but figured this forum was the most likely place to find an answer.

Thanks!

Good luck! Many bugs have been reported here already. What kinda things are you seeing? The big one for me is I have to search for Pandora pretty much every time I get in the car. Not every time, but most. Turning the radio off before shutting the car down helps but doesn't fix it...

The main problem I'm experiencing is if I'm listening to music from USB when I turn the car off, it defaults to the radio input next time I start the car, but the display still shows (and appears to be playing) USB. The display will only revert to showing radio information if I press the Radio button. It's really just an annoyance, but clearly a bug.

Part of my job is making user interfaces for products, so I'm very picky about things like this. I have high expectations, especially from a major automotive manufacturer whose software is on v5.9.

There have been other minor things, too. I haven't been able to reproduce them, though.

The quick fix for this is to hit the power button for the stereo prior to starting the car. I have to do this for my phone bluetooth connection as well. We shouldn't have to, I agree, but it seems to work every time for me.

Good luck. SYNC is inherently buggy.

Enjoy pulling fuse #32 every 6 weeks. That's what I have to do once SYNC invariably flips the fuck out during playback and forgets what it's supposed to do.

I tend to think of SYNC as a terrified, but eager to please, child with Down's syndrome.

Awesome! I'll try that (if I remember) on my drive home this afternoon.

Also good to know. I didn't look at the manual, but I suspect you'll know immediately... does fuse #32 cut power for anything else besides Sync stuff?

Negative. #32 is just the SYNC brain. #33 is the fuse for the rest of the head unit.

For the past several months I've just left the fuse cover off the passenger footwell and I keep a pair of needlenose pliers in the console to quickly pull the fuse and reset SYNC, but I really need to get around to just running some remote wiring and doing a fused toggle in the glove box.

When SYNC decides to go sit in the corner and eat crayons, you can either pull the negative battery terminal or fuse #32.
