Thanks for the compliment and the great questions.
I briefly considered flat socket cap screws to increase clearance and reduce snagging things, but wasn't sure I had enough depth for them to be flush. Button heads were my next choice, and in the pictures I used plain-old socket cap screws...
I finished fabrication on Saturday. Since I don't have a Metal Supermarket or anything similar near me, I used an extra aluminum rack-mount shelf I had from a previous project. I used chrome acorn nuts for the outward facing side of the license plate because that's what I had. I'm not sure...
I played around a little on my way home and I couldn't get it to stop blowing out of the defrost vents unless I selected only the dash vents.
Selecting footwell-only seems to send about 50% of the air through the defrost vents and 50% through the footwell vents. This seems like the wrong...
That was the first thing I checked. It was off. Footwell was the only thing active.
Using the "MAX Defrost" setting may override all other settings, but I've used defrost, dash vents, and footwell vents simultaneously in the past. The premium models may behave differently, I cannot say as...
I brought it up with the finance/paperwork guy that was able to give me the actual details as I was signing paperwork. I told him the interval for the Mustang was 10000 miles and it took 8 quarts of oil. He said they require 3000 miles for oil change intervals to keep their warranty. I really...
I *just* (minutes ago) received an automated email from them about their current oil change deal... $39.95 for up to 5 quarts and a filter.
I'm certain he was lying, plain and simple.
As an aside, though, sometimes Walmart has the Supertech oil on sale. In June, I picked up 10 gallons (yes...
Agreed. They touted their warranty as being great as "no one else" does it, but their sales manager couldn't give me any specifics when I asked about details and what was necessary to maintain the warranty. He had a salesman give me a pamphlet stating no real details. He also told me most oil...
It's starting to get a little cooler in the mornings, so I'm using the heat. Most of the time I prefer the heat to come from only the footwell.
This morning I had the fan speed set to maximum while I let the car warm up. When I began my commute, I pressed the footwell button while the fan...
Germain Ford in Beavercreek, OH gives a lifetime powertrain warranty. All regular services have to be done with them AND they require oil changes to be done by them every 3000 miles (or 6 months).
Out of curiosity, I emailed them asking how much an oil change would cost and they never replied...
I had not thought about trying your method, but if my bracket design doesn't work out it will be near the top of my list of alternatives. Thanks!
You do bring up an excellent point and one I had not considered... curbs.
My goal was to keep the outer bracket as high off the ground as possible...
Thanks for the info. Googling around, I think I see the rubber air deflector you're referring to. I definitely don't have anything like that on my 2016 GT. I'm fairly certain this bracket would *not* fit the EcoBoost cars. It may be possible to design one that would.
The current version of...
My state requires front license plates, but I can't bring myself to make holes in the bumper or the full over-the-car stripes to accommodate the stock license plate holder.
Unfortunately, I haven't really seen any options I've particularly liked as they all seem to mount to various plastic bits...
The dealer I took it to was not interested in rectifying the issue, so I set out to fix it myself. This fix made the gap about 90% better. Still not perfect, but I'm much happier with it now.
On my 2016 GT, the rear trim below the decklid is held on with foam adhesive tape and two plastic...
Took it to the dealer for this (and the other things I mentioned). Upon inspection we found the seat fabric had been torn from the hinge acting like a pair of scissors. Dealer acknowledged the seat bottom was incorrectly installed and ordered a new seat bottom.
I have the same issue and it couldn't be resolved by tucking it back under. Dealer (service manager, specifically) refused to replace the A pillar trim.
I have a number of issues I've seen on this site: Transmission thud, driver side upper molding gap, body panel alignment issues, hood movement, Sync bugs, camera/deck lid gap, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue...
I folded down both rear seats to take some broken down boxes to...
The main problem I'm experiencing is if I'm listening to music from USB when I turn the car off, it defaults to the radio input next time I start the car, but the display still shows (and appears to be playing) USB. The display will only revert to showing radio information if I press the Radio...
