My 10r80 in my 5.0 is giving out so it’s time to replace it, I made a post awhile ago I was planning on rebuilding it but after doing some research I think it would be best to just buy a new one it’s ruffle the same price.

I was wondering if it matters what car the transmission comes out of?

There’s a 10r80 in my area for sale for $2,000 with 30k miles but only thing is it came from a eco boost am I still able to use it? Or does it have to come out of a 5.0

also there’s a few more for sale in my area but there from 2019+ cars mine is a 2018 would I have to do any extra stuff to make it work? Or can I just throw it in without doing any reprogramming

Bump - my GT transmission grenaded last week and have the same question!

Specifically if TCM programing or refresh is needed by Ford to go from ecoboost into a GT.

Bellhousing isn't the same between the eco and 5.0 for one

Got it. Any recommendations to replace an unusable transmission? Ford's quote was $9200 + tax.

Any transmission that you put in will need to be programmed to the vehicle (technically it's the valve body). I'm fairly certain it can be done with Forscan.
