How would I be able to get the remote start set up on my base manual? Can the key fob be programmed for it? Is it something I could do myself?

This question shows up every month or so and always is followed by a discussion how idiotic of an idea is that and examples of car ending up in a lake or somewhere similar after somebody started it without putting in neutral.

You have to find somebody willing to install aftermarket contraption that bypasses safety features.

Haha Alright thanks. I never leave my car in gear by the way. Only time I did was when I was working on it once in the driveway and I definitely forgot it was in gear when I started it. Almost went through the garage door. So yea never in gear again.

:) Look aread - I remember at least two of them, in one was example of a car left at a dealership - they tried to open from the remote, car started, jumped the curb and ended up in a lake - if I remember correctly. You may not leave in a gear but somebody else might...

python and viper both make systems designed for manuals... there is a sequence that you do before exiting the car that ensures its in neutral. I have installed alot of these systems on manuals and never once has there ever been an issue. So while there are systems out there, there isnt any firmware out for the new mustang manuals. I contacted fortin a few days ago and while they have a firmware for a auto car, they havent had a manual car in to try it on. There is a post about this in the audio section, i will post up my results when i do the install...

I'm an Advanced MECP car audio shop owner and there is no way I'd ever put a remote start on my 6 Speed Mustang...

While I love the idea, reason I can't see myself doing it is I don't think I could bring myself to leave the car in neutral when parked.
