I have the remote start set to "Auto". The manual says in cold weather the heater is set to come on and the rear window defroster should come on when the car is started. I don't see the defroster melting the frost on the window even after 5 minutes of idling.

Does anyone have experience with this working? If I change to "Last" setting and turn the defroster on when shutting the car down will the defroster be on when remote starting?

I don't know about that, but the other day I remote started to warm up a very cold morning. When I got in the car the seat warmer was running. A nice surprise for my butt.

Last morning I used the remote start it was 35 f. The heater blower came on but the rear window defroster didn't seem to. I have the seats set to off, I have no need to heat the passenger seat, so I would rather turn the seats on manually.

My seats were set to off also. In fact they automatically go off when the ignition is off. I always have to turn them on to use them, except that time when it was freezing outside and I remote started a few minutes before getting in. I noticed the seat heater lights were NOT on, even tho the seat was heated. But I am not complaining. I love the feature. It was probably in the high 30s or low 40s that morning.

There is an option in the menu that either turns on the seat heating or cooling with a remote start or not. When you get in after a remote start the controls all look off, pressing the brake and start button give control back to the driver and you have to re-activate the seats and set the other controls.

The heated/cooled seat as well as AC during remote start does not carry on once you hit the start button. You have to turn it back on.

Yes, I figured that. My point was that they came on during remote start even though they were not left on when I shut down last.

I will have to find that and make sure the seat cooler comes on when needed. It works so poorly it needs a head start in the summer.

EDIT: found it in the manual. seats are either on or off and for 5, 10, or 15 minutes with remote. So I am good to go.

I wish there was a way to add the factory remote start settings to a manual

When I remote start my car in the cold and then press the start button the heated seats carry on based on occupancy. If it's just me, the driver's seat will be on high. If I have a passenger both seats will be on high. This is even if seats were off on set to a different setting the last time the car was on.

If I just start the car normally without remote start the seats go to what they were set to last time regardless of occupancy.

Remote Started the car this morning 26 degrees in Denver, 2-1/2 mins of remote start idle the defroster had gotten the light frost of the rear window. So yes it does come on. (base 2015 v6). The remote start has the setting in the computer currently to auto.

Then you must have had the seat turned on in the menu.

They made that change on some of the 16s and all of the 17s. Before the climate seats would reset when you hit start button.
