Remote start range

So I was ready to go to lunch and decided to start my car from my office on the 12th floor, quite aways from the parking garage and it started. I was really impressed! by the time i made it my car it was nice and warm and ready for me. It take about 10 minutes to get to it. I can see my car from my office window.

Awesome view. Now you can always keep an eye on your baby. Also if you were on the land, the same distance, it would not work. Higher you are the better range.

Haha nice. Mine usually works from about 50-60 yards when Im walking out of the office in the afternoon

I also have been impressed by how far away it will work. A function of the freshness of the battery in the fob, I'm sure, so distance will likely shorten over time.

I've been doing it a little further away every morning and each time I think damn I'm too far now. But a second later I hear the engine and it hasn't failed to put a smile on my face yet.

Having line of sight makes a big difference. I have a hard time getting my wife's Edge to start from 30 yards without line of site.

All automatic 15s get remote start standard. Even on a base GT.

Yeah remote start will never be offered on manuals. For safety reasons alone.

I did the remote unlock from 50+ yards away, amazed at the distance

On my Toyota Tacoma, the range is like 15 yards

I got a Ford Fusion rental car a year or so back to take to a football game. I park just outside the stadium maybe 7 or 800 feet from where I actually sat, and when I come back after the game, every single window in the car is rolled all the way down. Apparently I somehow hit the combination to roll all the windows down while I was sitting in my seat at the game. I was pretty impressed by the range but damn thats a pretty serious design flaw lol...

I heard putting the fob next to your head extend the range a bit. Don't know why.
