Here is a pie chart of my TCO expenses (less the car itself).
I spent almost as much on Exterior Appearance as on mods.

$2435 of exterior appearance was spent on clear film alone.
$2400 of the mods was for the wheels/tires alone.
The pie chart totals $10,183 presently. Year and a half of ownership.
Don't know whether I should be proud :D or ashamed.
Proud for enjoying your car, ashamed for letting us see your anal side.:)
Here is the anal side: Approximately $50k total on the car so far. 420 hours, and 15,000 miles means

$3.33 per mile (not even including gas), or
$119 per hour. :eyebulge:

what brand are you guys using? I am on the fence because around here shops SUCK and i have seen the following issues, yellowing, technician cutting into the cars paint when free hand cutting areas such as rear quarter arches and bumpers, and the worse thing i saw was the removal of the film from yellowing took the OEM paint off cars, many cars ranging from Porsche, Ferrari and Lexus. I hear XPEL has a warranty, i am considering doing my hood and bumper and rockers only, don,t think fenders are worth it. I drive in the NYC area and on my GT which i sold, in 3 years i honestly didnt have much damage on a black car, zero on the bumper and rockers and maybe 3 on the hood that i Dr COlorchip fixed. Deliberating on this now.

I am like you still on the fence. From what I was told the pieces are precut to fit most areas and there may be some trimming on the side but that would be done before bonding it to the car. I have heard that yellowing is a problem with white cars and Suntek was a better product for white cars. As far as damaging paint when removing that would only occur possibly with stripes.

Can you give a comparison between XPEL ultimate and the new Suntek Ultra which just came out recently and also has 10 year warranty?

Place I'm going to next week still offers Xpel Ultimate as a choice but states they've switched to Suntek Ultra because of better clarity and in their opinion outperforms Xpel. Don't know about ease of installation. Seems like just have to make a choice and live with it but 10 year warranty hopefully means something.

Xpel and Suntek compete so hard that they are matched up again now. Suntek matched Xpel's warranty, and just recently Xpel is matching Suntek's shininess.

My installer went from Xpel to Suntek and now back to Xpel.

In my opinion, you should find the best installer and then be happy with whichever brand they like. Being able to customize and cut the patterns is a clue, as is size of shop, and number of high-end cars there.

We use all the brands but still, Xpel rules and STEK is not too far behind and I'm guessing by XMAS way ahead of the competition with it's Dyno shield products.XPEL has the bigger name at this time.
