I don't shift until red line isn't that the point? I rarely make it out of second gear. Most speed limits are around 40 so right about 4K in 2nd. unless I'm on the highway where the speed limit is 65 then I'll be cruising 3rd at 5k rpm give or take a thousand.

Rare for me, mostly when Im merging onto the freeway with open road.

If I recall right, red line in second gear is well over the freeway speed limit, people who say they are WOT in a 435 HP car on the road with other cars are idiot drivers. No offense... you guys need to get out on the track more, there is nothing like being on a circuit track in a car like this, 10 times funner then anything you do on the road and you wont kill people.

this is the reason why we have so many Youtube videos of people wrecking their Mustangs.
Amen, the track is where it's at!!!!

Just get a supercharger and you won't redline it as much.
On the contrary from a Supercharger owner, you will bounce it off the fuel limit quite often. The car rev's out soooooi much faster. It doesn't help the my other car is the GT 350 that reds out to 8250 RPM's!
But to the OP's question, obviously the harder you push an engine the life will shorten, but by how much who knows. This coyote engine is very durable you'll be fine. You didn't buy the car to drive it like grandpa.

I redlined today for the first time. Had no idea the lighting in the gauge changed color. How did I not hear about this before??? lol

I have my gauges in blue light and when I hit the redline the whole gauge went red.. I was like.. Oh shit and Oh nice about the same time :)

Nobody in this topic said they go WOT with other people around. Get off your highhorse and stop making assumptions about your fellow M6G members. For all you know half of us live out in the country with 90% empty back roads, with no one at danger but ourselves and the mosquitoes splattering against our windshields.

That's a neat little premium trim effect, I believe. Not all S550's do it.

Just out of curiosity, how many times do you guys redline your car everyday? I often go WOT about 3-4 times a day. I have an auto (3.55). Any negative effects by doing this everyday on the stock tune?
Like others have said, should be fine to hit redline regularly assuming proper maintenance is followed and not done on a cold (especially)or excessively hot engine.

I go WOT a few to several times per week(depending on my mood) but don't usually hit redline. It doesn't hit redline unless the shifter is in S. Mine actually sometimes chirps second gear with the traction control off in S mode on stock tune. Never saw that in any other non tuned auto coyotes. Maybe its the 3.55 gears?

Mine'll chirp 3rd bone stock if I take it through the gears.
Yes all GT manuals have done that since 2011. Weird for a stock tuned auto to do it in 2nd. Tuned the auto will peel into second and chirp 3rd.

Ya. I chipped 3rd the other day and thought I was shifting like John Force.
