I drilled my battery cover slightly bigger and used heavy duty shears to slice to the outside edge...that made the install perfect! The struts and hardware are top quality!
Thanks!

I opted to go with the MRT hood struts. Didn't feel like drilling a hole into my car.

Hole in the car?

One hole in the plastic battery cover only.

My Redlines were easy peasy to install and they look and work great.

I thought the hole was through the battery cover and fender.

There are no holes that need to be drilled into the car to mount our system, everything is bolt-in. The only modification required is to drill a hole in the plastic battery cover and we even include the step drill bit.

You can always purchase a new battery cover if you needed to go back to stock. Realistically, once you have our system installed, you will never want to go back to the stock prop rod.

I just installed mine last night. I am having a hard time making sure that the little red nut thing is pulling up into the hole like it is suppose to so that it stays. Anybody have a trick for this? Also I am not sure how to get the strut off now that they are on. I read the instructions but I can not tell where to get under the "C" clip at.

Pull up when you tighten. This will put tension on the red thing and it'll cinch up.

Like you though, I couldn't figure out how to get them off.

Snipping the battery cover so you can slip it on and off is an awesome addition - makes getting into the battery really easy.

Use a small screw driver and you can pry the c-clip from around the end joint which releases the ball.

Should the c clip come off the strut?

Working well so far. The aluminum hood flexs against the strut mount, but no bending yet.

Do not remove the C-clips as they are almost impossible to get back into the end-fitting.

I went out in the shop this morning and took some pictures showing the proper method to remove the gas springs.

Step 1:
Place a small flat head screw driver in the slot under the C-clip.

Step 2:
Push the screw driver forward and pry the C-clip up. Try and keep the C-clip centered during this process.

Step 3:
Pull the gas spring off the ball stud.

I hope this helps you in the proper removal of the gas springs.
