I'm installing Redline hood struts but I dropped the bracket for the passenger side between the fender and frame. How the heck do I get it? Tried a magnet with no luck

Open the door, look for the Foam insert in the fender and pull it out. I used a pick/hook tool (it looks like a black garbage bag that has been filled with expandable foam).

Once the foam is out you will probably see your part(door partway open, sit on ground next to steering wheel, look into fender)

Don't ask me how I know this! LOL

I did that. I had to remove the wheel well liner.
I had the Ford Performance hood struts ... and I also had to go in through the wheel liner.

I dropped a spark plug in there last summer. Made a 10 minute job last 2 hours.

never set tools or anything important anywhere near that dark abyss!!! but ya most things can be retrieved from the bottom. don't remove the whole wheel well liner, but just the bottom few clips and can bend it enough to get your hand back in there. learned my less with the 3 clips for the battery cover...

That did the trick, thankfully it was right there.

My passenger side bracket doesn't line up properly with the hole used to hold the wire harness. Is this a known issue with Redline struts?

3 clips for the battery cover... yeah I’m currently down to one. The damn outer sleeves fall down and never seem to hit the ground...:confused:

Yep, that void got two of mine also. Sounds like the makings of a class action law suit, lol.

Pretty retarded that they couldn't block those holes off. I dropped a small flathead in mine when I was doing the strut/cowl brace install. Now I own a 30" 15lb rating telescoping magnet!

Wheel liner for me. Luckily it was sitting right there.
