I know they wont be offered from the factory, but Ford racing does sell the recaro seats seperately, does anyone know if they will install in the convertible just as easily as the coupe?

Seats for convertible models generally have a reduced maximum recline angle so they can't rest on the back seat when fully reclined.

That was definitely the case with the '86 Mustang GTs because I owned one (the hatchback) and also sat in convertibles.

Interesting, so it should fit just fine as long as it isn't reclined to the max?

That's what I'd expect to be the case, but I can't be 100% certain without knowing more about it.

They're not going to use different floor stampings for each model, so the floor bolts holes are going to be the same relative to everything else in the car.

UPDATE: I just noticed you have a '91 Mustang GT. Not sure whether your talking about that car or the '15, but I'm certain of the following regarding the '91:

That's a Fox body, just like my '86 GT hatch and '88 5.0 LX notch. The factory convertible seats definitely had a factory "position limiter" in the recline mechanism which prevented them from fully reclining.

Just get the Recaros as long as they're designed for Fox body cars and you want them for the '91.

Or you can save yourself some money and buy yourself a pair of Sparco seats. They'll ship with the brackets for your car when you tell them what the application is.
