The front seats has a track of sorts for the seat belts. How is that removed?

Are you referring to the belt guide mounted on the outer shoulder of the seats?

yes how is that removed
When you open the door and look at the belt guide from the side, you'll see it has a small textured panel with the word "Airbag" embossed at the top of it. A small thin screwdriver, gently used at the bottom front of that panel, will pry it loose.

With that panel removed, you can see the connector and attachment point, which I think is a Torx T-20 or T-25.

However, removing it from the seat will reveal a hole in the upholstery, through which it connects to seat structure.
