Hi All,

I’m waiting for Cortex LCA bushing to come in. I’ve read BMR‘s write up, and although it looks straightforward, asking for those who’ve done it have there been frustrating complications. I would be doing it with Quickjacks on my own, the writeups indicate a second set of qualified hands would be very helpful. I’m just a bolt on, basic maintenance 60 year old guy. Doable, or leave to the Porsche shop I go to? Would definitely have them press out the bearings either way.

Appreciate any feedback!

I've changed them twice in the last couple months. I think it's easy, but it is a good amount of work. I have a lot of tools and have had my entire car apart, rebuilt the engine myself, changed the diff gears, turbos, suspension, etc, etc. So take my advice with that in mind.

I put my car on quickjacks, then use two separate jacks. One under the LCA and the other under the brake rotor. With the one jack under the LCA, you can support the spring. Unbolt the shock at the top and bottom and remove. Then unbolt the bolts attaching lca to knuckle and the toe link. Then you can lower the lca and use the other jack to raise the knuckle side up some and out of the way. Then you have to pop the spring out and sometimes it needs a little persuasion with a breaker bar to get it out of the LCA. Then the arm is free and you can use an extension socket and extension to get the bolts out of the inner lca bolts. Your gonna need a long wrench. I use an old torque wrench that I don't care about. I leave the parking brake on so the rotor doesn't rotate. And, you do not have to remove the brakes or rotor like some of the directions say.
