Sorry to say but Ive done this TWICE and it worked like a charm both times. No one said anything about "polishing paint with a drill" the corner of the rubber wheel is very precise, all you have to do is hit the leftover adhesive with the edge.

The goo gone helps, but it simply doesnt do the job. You will have leftover adhesive that wont come off.
I spent over an hour using "elbow grease" the first time too. The wheel just simply worked better

I used a rubber wheel when I swapped the spoiler on my mach 1 and it worked amazing. It literally didn't do anything to the finish, but pulled the tape right up. Took me like 10 mins.

Edit: Just to clarify, I bought the 3M one that's like $35 rather than whatever cheap one amazon had for like $8. So that probably helped.

I can see some people are skeptical... I don't blame them, I was too the first time I saw the suggestion.

Its downright sorcery how well it works...

I needed the eraser wheel as well. Goo gone wouldn't touch that diabolical adhesive for me for me. I didn't want to try any stronger solvents. Just keep it moving and if the paint heats up too hot, stop.

When you take the spoiler off and put the new one on be careful and angle the trunk lid so the screws/bolts do not fall into the trunk lid and you never find them. Use magnetic tools if possible.
I always use a small magnet in a socket on things like this, I've had things go sideways and spent hours try'n to get a nut/bolt out of a spot it should never have been able to get into.
Thanks for the reminder. It might help someone else.
