Purchased on 4/3/18 from wade ford for only $20,495 after $6,750 in total rebates.
Options the best color ever for a mustang&very expensive factory all weather mats.
First mustang I've owned in 4 year's, having sold my highly modded sgm 2013 3.7 6mt back on 4/1/14.
Fell in love with this color in person. Honestly very surprised by the fact this is imo a much nicer overall driving car then my 2013 was stock-stock. That was a base car I had paid just over 22k for and modded to suit my own tastes.
As I will do with this little shiny crimson red beauty.
The 18s mt82 shift feel is vastly improved vs a stock s197s mt82 shifter.
Stock on the 18 actually feels just as good ripping through the gears as my s197 did. Which had a steeda sts&bushing combo in it.
The seats stock are more comfortable&the 18s dual stripe patterned fabric inlay is pretty neat looking.
The headlights output is much better overall for nighttime driving&the 3 vertical leds look sinister.
The ride has a better feeling over expansion joints, and around hard corners it really feels more stable. Say vs the live axle car's unsettled feeling especially during any mid corner bumps.
It doesn't look like a freaking 4x4 at stock ride height finally
I won't lie though my 3.7 ran mid 13s on st tires with super basic bolt ons.
It also sounded awesome imo winding it out to 7200rpm daily.
My eb is still essentially still way to quiet it does make a few neat little turbo sounds though when driven hard. Surprisingly it can chirp the 1-2&2-3 shifts. Guess it's that 350#tq on overboost at work?
I hate how dead the car feels stock tune at anything over 5k rpm and when accelerating the tq limiting is painfully obvious.
Mpg is essentially similar averaged about 25-26 with the cyclone best ever of 31hwy.
So far through 3700 miles on the eb it's right at 27mpg. With a best of 32.1 calculated on an all hwy trip.
Insurance is actually cheaper for my eb then the 3.7 was.
I've rambled enough. A general plan is clean styling, yet aggressive&very different looking.
While having good handling and still be comfortable to cruise anywhere in.
First mod: removed the factory clutch spring, immensely improved feel afterwards. Can't recommend this simple 5min job enough!
Exhaust: eBay straight thru 3"inlet&dual 2.5" outlets louvered core fiber filled muffler.
Placed in stock resonator spot. Stock oa pipes we're reused, then painted Marlon flat black to better blend underneath the car. Dual burnt 4" slash cut tips. Saved an est 25-30# of total weight and only cost me $310 total.
Has a surprisingly smooth little rumble to it outside the car. Owner of the shop who did it, has done a lot of ebms since they came out. He doubted my setup at first, and then when done said it was the only one he actually liked the sound of lol. Inside windows up cruising it sounds stock just deeper&growly.
Intake: airaid modular tube(first on an 18), green drop in filter&velossatech ram air scoop(first on a 2018)
Plan to do the frpp tune whenever it's made available
Wheels: gold motegi mr133, offset 25mm(wish it was 10 or 0mm, 18x8.5. 255/45/18 Michelin pilot sport 4s.
Did it right with metal hub centric rings, and just to be different 60mm blue extended lugs to match the burnt exh tips.
2" pony logo w/tri bar center cap stickers I had lying around from my last stang project lol finish it off.
Suspension: Megan racing stb, bmr vertical links, irs lockout&bushing kit, sr performance 1" lowering springs(so far very unhappy with these spring's, drop is only about half of that stated by the manufacturer. Less than .75" in back and only about .5" in front).
Someday? full monotube coilovers>350 sways.
Stock gt or performance pack takeoff 4 piston front brakes and gt rear vented rotors, stainless lines&better fluid to.
Appearance: stock gt grille opened up with the pony&corral retained in the center.
After doing that project I officially hate using a dremel tool to cut plastic with.
Lower grille cut out to match the upper. Side intakes/brake duct screens opened to match the actual vent size.
Rear bumper opened up either side of the reverse light area using a dremel, custom diffuser bolted up that I trimmed the fins on to better match. Gold/zinc plated mounting hardware securing it all to the bumper.
Hood struts.Mirimoto red "gt" style led smoked taillights. Ikon motorsports v2 rear louver painted to match.
gt40 emblem replacing the rear pony. Hood vents removed&cf vinyl accents added in their place.
Tint at 20% on sides back&frontwindshield strip, 35% on the driver's&passengers windows. Rear marker lights also tinted.
Ceramic coated the entire car. Trunk scuff guard.
Fitted 50yr anniversary logo sunshade. Roush side vent inserts(not installed yet)
Want to ad the mmd front lip spoiler when made available.
Also a small gold side stripe/accent to better offset the wheels.
