Well, I will start out my saying it sure as hell was not the optune day/evening to run , but, I had it planned for a few weeks and we were going no matter the conditions.

By conditions I mean this 90*+ ambient air temp. A calculated DA of 5762 at Bristol Drag way in Bristol TN. Runs were with factory base 18's with P Zero 235/50/18's at factory air pressure.

Lines were pretty long and we were forced to pretty much idle with the way they were running the lanes and no shut off time.

With the NGauge showing 170*+ IATs (sorry Steeda intake, I love ya but god bless) and ambient under the hood at 107* and coolant temps at 205*... I made some runs..All were in Track mode. All but one with advance track on though. I'll explain later.

First run was a shit circus! Left above idle and bogged so bad I thought I stalled her. Woke back up and she recovered somewhat. That run (of course missing effin 4th) was a 14.111@ 102.22 60ft was a jello snapping 2.571 :headbonk:

Second run was slightly hope inspiring. With a 2000 rpm launch and less bog, I pulled a marginally better 2.384 60ft and hit all the gears to a 13.655@ 106.43

Made a few more passes, varied times and getting to the advance track comment. I tried one run with it totally off, 3k ride out of the clutch and that produced a nice top fuel burnout for the kids and a 2.507 60ft, missed 3rd (&8&^%#$#@!) and was rewarded with a [email protected].

But on to the best run...

2500 launch and clutch ride, slight bog but far better to a 2.206 60ft, hit all the gears (shifting at 6500) and scored a [email protected]

I guess considering the air conditions, shit tires, and noob Coyote driver, I can not be too pissed. Honestly, from my observations, I prob made the best run of the maybe ten Coyote powered Mustangs there. There was one auto car that I was interested in seeing how he ran. He was all over the map as well as I, but the highest traps I saw matched mine at 106.xx

I used Dragtimes to calculate a corrected time with all the data needed. With the mentioned DA of 5762 It spit out a corrected time of 12.377 @ 114.504 MPH.

Sound believable?

My wife brought our 2013 2.0L EcoBoost Taurus to run as well. The bone stock lil huffer did a [email protected] with a 2.469 60ft. She foot braked and boosted up and smoked the OEM spec tires a little too much. Turbo cars don't like pea soup air either. LOL. She smoked just about every Honda and other import there that she ran across. Good air and a Boostmax and exhaust (future plans) and that car should be fairly fun at the track.

Lil long winded but just blowing off steam and de briefing a little.

What do you all think bout the best runs and in general?

Your 60ft times are killing your ET, some practice launching that and you should be easily in the 12s

Your car has the mods on your signature correct? Giving the 60 foot with the weather I think you did okay. Heck, you're bolder than most of us by taking it to the track.

With more practice, I bet you can pull a 2.0 60ft and get it to the 12's easily.

The DA is a back breaker. Your times aren't horrible but it goes without says that you need more practice. The 2500 rpm clutch slip sound like the ticket for stock tires. You might want to raise the RPMs a little more and try the same technique. The good manual drivers make 1.9 sixties look easy.

That 5762 ft. DA is a killer, you're not going to break any records in that kind of air.
It's also really hard to get a good launch on your first time out.
All things considered, I think you did very well.
At least you've now got a baseline. I think you'll break into the twelves next time if the air is even halfway decent. That's something to shoot for.

This is actually my second time running it. Here is the thread I posted for the stats instead of retyping. LOL First time out was at a local 1/8th mile. This was before the tune and cat back.

I'd be happy with the corrected ET and trap at this point in time. I know it will least take a sticky tire and ideal air conditions. I guess my biggest irritation with the runs the other night is the low traps. I have to keep in mind just how total garbage the air was and assume that it cost me prob 5-7 mph on the big end. ET can be accounted for easily with the less than stella 60's and the air again.

Thank you for the encouragement.

And just to throw it out there for everybody that replied or may..... I've pulled some 2.0 60's in this car. Just not at Bristol apparently LOL

I saw you run. I have gone to the Street Fights the last two weeks to watch and see what shows up. Lots of people were having issues getting off the line. A couple WRXs were bogging real bad, not sure why you don't rev it up and dump the clutch with AWD. I did notice your best run, pretty good given the conditions. I was helping my noob cousin who was racing his Plum Crazy Challenger R/T for the first time. He had never even been to a drag strip so I had to coach him up a bit. I wanted to make my rounds and chat with the S550 guys but didn't make it. Did you see the white GTR run?! That guy said he was at 1300 HP and he ran a 9.20 and a 8.90. Crazy...
