Looking for race tires in 19s if possible. Was kicking around the SVE 19x9.5 Drift wheels for track use. 19" tire selection well.....just plain sucks. What are you guys gonna do?

What kind of racing? Rules/restrictions?

If 19" is your first choice you can use Michelin Cup II, BFG Rival, or Hoosier A/R6(A/R7).

Track days, Auto X. Already have Steeda springs and sway bars so I guess that would put me in ESP for auto x?

Looks like BFG Rivals are the best bang for the buck.

Yes they will be dedicated track/auto x tires. The Mustang isnt my DD and it replaced my Cobra Daytona Coupe replica for track duty. I do at least 2 track days a year and now Im gonna auto x more this year.

SVE drift wheels are too heavy.

Not looking to squeeze every 1/10th out of it. Just looking for some cheap wheels that I wont mind getting beat up at the track or auto x. Just want to have fun on em. I used to gravel rally, after youve done that playing in a parking lot with cones is childs play.

I would recommend rotory forged wheels to shed some weight like the Forgestar or TSW wheels which are priced amazingly as well.

For tires

Nitto NT01, Toyo R888, BFG Rivals,

You have some good choices, let me know if youd like for me to help you out however I can.

I think STU if you stick to something above 200 tread wear rating. Otherwise, yeah I think ESP.

NT05s staggered with 305s on the back on 17" wheels. There are plenty of tires for 17s, not so much for 19s. I want a square setup so i can rotate em instead of them being locked on each corner.

I see that some "camaro" guy's like the Bridgestone RE-11 tires for track use.
That's what I will use when I get my GT. Looks to be a good tire.

the selection of 17 inch tires is amazing and affordable.. but i dont think you are going to get 17s on any corner of a gt pp.

i have been running track events for about 10 years now.. i have burned through re01r, star specs, this last time i decide to give the supersports a shot, was going to buy the rivals..

i drive my track car to and from the track, that is it. it just sits in the garage other than that.

the supersports as much as i hate to say it are a great tire, in terms of grip and feel up to the extreme performance tires i have run.

i have one track day on them.. but have pulled them off to look at brakes. well. they barely showed the track event.. a bit on the left front, but roebling road is hard on that tire..

also at that time i found a broken sway bar mount that i likley had at daytona, and that explained a lot! :(

and the good news is you can rotate them front to back or all the way around..

i have been a die hard extreme performance tire for the track guy, but i have let that go.

the same time i let go buying a car that would put me at 170mph into turn one at roebling road.

still want to have fun, but just in extreme moderation!!!!

beers
