I enjoy working on my cars but don’t have the room to have a hoist jack in my garage so I am looking at the possibility of importing a QuickJack BL-5000 SLX which supposedly could be the next best thing. Have any of you car enthusiast had any experience using one of these jacks? Are they any good? Is there anything better? Just want a discussion on what you all think.

Cheers

I have a quickjack and love it! I can't believe that I didn't buy it sooner. It lifts the car a lot higher than jack stands and is so quick. I have even left my car jacked up on it for a week lol.

I think Nathanbrummer@SCS has one of these as well. Maybe he can chime in as I've had my eye on these as well. I keep waiting for a sale somewhere.

Does it leave plenty of room between the platforms for working on exhaust, suspension, tranny, and etc?

Yep. It's perfect for those mods. It is probably the best money I've spent. It makes things so much easier. The only "different" thing is you need to slide in for the front and back as obviously the sides are blocked. The biggest knock you'll read about these is leaking. These seemed to have addressed this with their new quick disconnects. I have had ZERO issues with leaking. I love them and would never use jack stands again! If you have any specific questions let me know.

I dont think it goes high enough to replace the clutch.

Well crap, I should have read the entire thread:headbonk:
Heh....was gonna say....if you can't slither under there with almost 2 additional feet of air, you need to cut down on the brewskies. :)

Cool stuff. Definitely less obtrusive in the garage than a 2 or 4 post lift, but I'm not sure laying on a creeper while doing a clutch or exhaust is for me. :)

Great for brakes, suspension, rotating tires, fluid changes, etc.

Best,

There is no way that I will do my clutch again laying on my back. It sucked lol. But this is much nicer than using a jack and jack stands. It is well worth the money. Once I replace my driveshaft, I am going to lift my truck.
