Quick Release Wheel?

So long story short I had neck surgery and getting in and out of this thing when in the trailer is near impossible... Is it at all possible to install a quick release on the stock wheel? If I could get the wheel out of the way it would make it much much easier to mainly crawl into the car. My Focus RS isn't as bad but it's also not as wide and the window is bigger on the RS. Impossible to open the door due to it hitting the wheel well in the trailer. I'd rather not have to use an aftermarket wheel and keep the use of the buttons. Really don't think much would work without them including the drive modes :frusty:

I don't think a quick release would exist for the factory steering wheel.

What about the telescoping and tilt steering feature? Raise the wheel all the way up and push it all the way in when you leave the car. Does that offer you enough room? j

quick release wheel will void warranty since theres an airbag inside of it..

Quick release wheels have no electronics that I've seen aside from a basic horn connection. You'd definitely not want to be connecting and disconnecting an airbagged wheel like that in any case.

Yeah that's what I figured... I have the wheel all the way in and it's still pretty tight crawling into it. Might have to try putting the seat all the way back and see if that helps any.

A crazy idea

What about vertical doors for your GT350? They still open out some, would have to make sure that distance is within the available space in your trailer... May cost a grand, but with your garage contents, bet you could pull it off

Or... put rear seats down and crawl in through the trunk? Sorry if this is ridiculous, just brainstorming.

My GT PP moves the seat all the way back by itself to make entry and exit easier. Does the GT350 have this option? There are buttons on the door that can be programmed for your seat position.

Even if you don't have this feature, moving the seat way back makes it MUCH easier to get in and out of the car.
