nastang87xx I also have the 305/30/19 square setup planned... RS-3's too. Let me/us know how it holds up on the track. My backup is the RE-71R's.
You're going to want to go RS3's or stick with your MPSS's at least. Do NOT go with 71R's. 71R's were specifically made for autocross. They are THE tire to have but for 60 - 90 second sprints. They overheat very fast because of that reason. Now if only BFG would stop being lame and make a Rival that worked with our cars...

Not even close, PSS are a class above on dry roads, but in real rainfall there is no comparison. I have had to drop under 55 in severe rain on PSS that the Contis just plow right through.

damp roads, maybe, temperature matters a bit, for any road with standing water, or significant rain it isn't even a competition.

it depends on how significant the rain is within your area, and the probability the road collects water.
Agreed PSS are much better than DW in the dry, but they have similar rain performance. In Florida there is heavy rain and standing water almost daily. My daily has DWs, my wife has PSS and I have bounced between the two for years and tracked both in rain and dry for years. Even lap times are pretty similar in the wet. You will not find a better performing wet tire than these two short of an all season tire, let alone a performance oriented tire.

YMMV.

^Yup.... those Contis in the rain are great! Grips very well under wet conditions... dry grip for street use is fine but the MPSS for grip on both dry roads & track is much better. The Contis are really and primarily more for street-use than MPSS which is good for street & occasional-track use. Obviously the main advantage of the Contis is the more cost efficient factor.

When I had my C7 Z06... my stock wheels wore Contis while my track wheels had Cup2's. The DW's also had more rounded forgiving shoulders/edges.
