My local Quick Lane is $39 for a semi-synthetic oil change and filter (6 qts) or just $12.50 for labor and disposal if I bring my own oil and filter.

I used to do oil changes myself but these prices cannot be beat. For once I am genuinely surprised!

Anyone else inquired about prices for your local Quick Lane?

I got to my local Dodge dealer as they use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum as that comes in the Viper and Hellcat. This is the oil I wanted and I get 4 oil changes (8 quarts, filter, disposal) for $245 over 2 years. This comes out to $61.25 an oil change. I can't even get the oil and filter for that price.

This is a no brainer for me plus the tech's are all car guys and drool when my GT PP rumbles into their dealership :)

Wal mart regularly has 5 quart Mobil 1 @ $31.00 a jug. X 2 + $6 for a filter.

So less than $70 to do it myslef.

Local oil change places want $120 for an 8 quart synthetic change.

I like bringing it somewhere to get done so I don't have to mess with disposing the oil/filter.

Have you checked with your local Ford Dealer and tried their "Works" oil, lube, and inspection program? Yes, it is a bit more expensive and perhaps you'll wait a tad bit longer but you get service that you don't get in a typical "discount" chain (unless regulated by State, most discount lubrication shops do not use ASE certified technicians, nor do they warranty their work). My spouse used to go to a discount oil service provider until in one outing stripped her oil drain plug and over tightened her oil filter...the end result was a car out of oil, and a damaged radiator due to someone banging a strap wrench through one of the cooling tubes! :ford:
