Quick hello from a Mustang virgin!

Hello folks,

Just wanted to say a quick hello to the UKers of the forum! :cheers:

Only went for a test drive of the new Mustang at a local dealership yesterday morning. I had looked through this forum quite a bit over the last week or so to get some general background info!

Safe to say, after about 45mins sat in the car, it was already bought in my head. An hour later and it was all signed and sealed (now just for delivered!)

Still think the salesmen in charge of Mustangs have the easiest job going!

Anyway, I've gone for a Race Red GT without the custom pack but all the extras added, as wanted the black wheels and trim!

They're estimating build date of June and hopefully delivery in Sep, but we shall see... Any tips on how to cope with the wait ha!?!

Look forward to discussing everything that is Mustang with you all!

Welcome to the mad house. Same spec as mine. Get mine in about a month.
Now you have to try and not buy load of stuff for it arriving.

Must admit that's what I'm slightly worried about, not hearing anything at all until about July!!!

I'm not known for my patience i must admit so I did pre-warn him I'd probably be hassling him a fair bit.

I think I saw somewhere on here a summary of how to go about tracking it yourself on various websites? I assume once you've got a VIN (which I'm a long way off anyway!)

My2017 builds will start in (I think) August but at the moment the only known changes are in the colours... There might be more information by April 1st when the new US ordering guide is available... But don't hold your breath.

4 months from order to build does sound really, really quick though so you might need an extra order of patience....

Ah my bad thought it was June. 4 months sounds about right now. I ordered December and have been told April build. Now I know to take that with a pinch of salt but who knows.

Yea i did ask about MY '17.

They weren't entirely sure when the UK versions build would start, but June is the start for US.

Did consider waiting , but that would mean waiting a couple of months before even ordering, and seeing as it looks like only minor changes along with the colour (which I wasnt interested in anyway) thought i may as well get ordered.

Dont say that deep south.....already not sure how I'm going to cope!

First post from me as well.
I ordered last Tuesday the exact car that you have and a mate from work has ordered the same on Sunday !
I guess us Racing Red V8's with black wheels are going to be as common as silver Mondeos out there.
It's going to be a long wait !
