Ordered my Mustang on the 26/05/16 and going off what my salesman was saying it would be at least a 12 month wait.

I get a call yesterday afternoon (coincidentally my birthday) and was told that a guy with the exact same order as mine wanted to change colour so he had to go to the back of the line and re-order and I was the next cab off the rank for that order.

My current car is on a lease and I have a guy I work with who has been saying since I bought it that he wants first dibs if I sell. I messaged him last night and told him it's his and how much I need so he will get back to me after he discusses things with the (financial advisor) wife.

I will also be taking the car on Tuesday to my dealer to see what they'd give me on a trade and if it all works out in my favour with the Mustang being on a boat as we speak on it's way to Sydney to land on the 02/12/16 my salesman says I should be driving it home by Xmas Eve.

I have nothing to lose right and everything to gain as I fully expected at least 12 months of waiting. I'm excited and nervous all rolled into one. I'd love it to be in time for Xmas but I'm not holding my breath either but you never know.

Do it, if you don't jump on that order someone else will. No reason you should give up that early xmas present to someone else

Then you can join us on a January cruise ;)

I had the same opportunity i didnt hesitate. I had my car 8 days later. Feel bad for the people who have waited longest but they would do exactly the same

I ordered in January and my car is sitting at the dock atm. Currently making my garage bigger to accommodate the car so am happy to wait that little bit longer but good on you for scoring a car earlier than expected. I am sure most people would take the bull, er mustang, by the horns and make hay while the sun shines.

if you are in a position to take the car early, then do it
That goes without saying but like I said If the trade for my car isn't good enough or I don't sell it to the guy from work I'm happy to wait

Like I said it's on the ship as we speak and due to dock at Kurnell on the 02/12/16. You were extremely lucky though.

Hey Saf, if you can organise off loading your current ride, then do it. No shame just heaps of smiles. Good luck

If you wait, you will actually be getting the 2018 model after June 2017. At this stage no one knows what the refresh design looks like yet. So it may be good to jump the line if you really are set on the current look.

Don't do it. The waiting is half the fun. Especially that last couple of months when the car is built and they won't load it on a damn boat.

Are you crazy? Don't ask, don't think, JUST DO IT! Sort out trade in later if you have to, the trade in will be worth less the longer you wait.

Have fun!
