Never was a fan of stripes, but stripes go with this car like burger and fries. With that being said, do you mind the extra care involved every day?

Long term wise, when time comes for removal of the stripes for discoloration or just getting old and worn, there's some horror stories about trying to remove old vinyl that just cracks in little pieces upon removal.

What's your view on this?

I love the way the stripes look, but hate that they show swirl marks so bad. I am having mine removed the 1st week of may and painted on. Should look much better in the end.

What's involved in something like that?

According to a local shop, not to much. Charge is $1200 for removal of the old stripes, put the painted stripes on and re-clear it.

They are straight up uncleared vinyl. Car is similar to paint (avoid waxing in the creaces, etc), but as mentioned they swirl up immediately. I deleted mine then had a local installer add them but in a satin finish (like the R), which is pretty much scratch proof. You just can't wax it. I just use a quick detailer on them.

I love my stripes. Haven't had any issues with extra care or special treatment.

Invest in a good carnuba soap and QUALITY towels and you won't have any issues.

Personally, the stripes don't really have any special needs. I had mine added, after the purchase, at Big Worm graphics in Ft. Worth. They are laser straight and look like factory stripes without the cracks. Also, I can remove the stripes at any time with no issues. Next year, I think I might change to white stripes. Or blue.

It's nice you guys have them local. I think the Xpel HQ is located in TX too. I'm going with the stripes after all. Thanks for everyone's input
