So I was wondering if you had to do one or the other first, which would you do: window tint or stripes, eventually I will be doing both. Black mustang so I would be going with matte black on the stripes, below is the stripes I plan on going with.

Tints.... Always the first thing I add to any car are tints.
As far as a black stripe on a black car, pics of that?

Woah you're right. I never liked stripes until now. I might have to get these things. But still tints I recommend first. Plus they're functional.

Thanx. Had it base and cleared. Needs to be blocked to finish it up. And the Pinstripe....Rangoon Red of course!! A mid 60's Ford color.

I do like the matte Black stripes but I think I'd pin stripe the outer edges of them.

Tints for sure. I hate driving a fish bowl.

Definitely tint first, and yes matte black stripes on a black car look great. Here's mine.

I have a tint job scheduled on the Mustang for Thursday.
I can't wait! This film I'm getting on my car will have 85-95% heat rejection rate!
Just in time for summer too.

Since you're in NC like me, do you have any worries about the light transfer rate on your tints? I had my windows done a few weeks ago with SunTek Carbon 35 because I didn't want to risk having an overly strict "by-the-book" inspection shop or police officer pull out their photometer and test my windows before deciding if they'd pass my inspection or give me a ticket. For those who aren't familiar with NC laws, a 35% VLT rate is the darkest allowed for the majority of passenger vehicles.

Also, what film are you using? That's a pretty high solar energy rejection percentage. Even the super limo dark SunTek Carbon 5 film only has a TSER of 50%. Are you maybe thinking of UV light rejection instead?

Of course I'm getting the legal 35% rated film on the windows. In my 20 years of driving in NC, I've only been pulled over for the tinted window once in Raleigh. I have 0 worries about the tint.
Unfortunately I couldn't tell you the name or the manufacturer of the film I mentioned. I didn't pay enough attention when I was scheduling my appointment at the shop. They had 3-4 different grade of film depending on the heat rejection rate. I went with the highest rated one. Sorry about the vague information, I've never been good with details. I'm taking my car to DEDONA in Greensboro off of W Market St. I've never had any experience with them, but they were highly recommended. I say give them a call, I'm sure they'll be glad to answer any of your questions.

Stripes first then tints. Why am I out of step with everyone else here that tints first? If you tint first, then no one can see you just got such a fine car. No one of the opposite sex can recognize that it's you with the fine Mustang. So I would recommend to all you young Mustangers that you Stripe first...and then after everyone has seen and recognized you as the owner of such a fine looking Pony...then tint away. But this only works if you want people to notice that YOU are the owner.

I prefer the wow factor when they are staring not knowing I see them, then the jet black window goes down, to reveal my gorgeous face :first:
