Well it could well be Spring 2016 before my order turns up.

Ford UK appear to have been surprised by the amount of customers that have ordered the new Mustang and even more surprised that many, like me, want the V8, especially as our gas is $8.00 a gallon and rapidly starting to rise back up to it's former high of $10.00.

My question is about the interior trim. Many testers have mentioned the aluminium strip across the dashboard and the aluminium toggle switches but are they really made of metal or just coloured plastic?

Cheers.

it's real aluminum. Depending on the trim the piece that goes across the dash gets a thin translucent "decal" (not sure what a better word for it would be) to give it the look of spun aluminum or whatever design they're going for, but it's aluminum underneath. and the toggles are solid. They have a good feel. essentially, if it looks like aluminum - it is.

The engine turn wrap on the PP dash is fairly dark and looks nice. Some people were worried it'd look like the bright 70's star wars stickers, but it doesn't.

A year ago last December, when the S550 was launched, it was stated "if it looks like metal, it is metal" when referring to the interior.

I've now sat if a few S550s and can say the interior quality was on par with a 3-series BMW. All 3 I've experienced were Premium trim though, but that's what we're getting in the UK, anyway.

It'll be interesting to see if the "Premiere" trim is also standard (ie soft touch door panels etc) as it's not an option for us. If Ford have any sense, it will be.

:)
