Hello Gurus, thankyou for reading.
Short story: How do I set the optimum length of the Pedders rear shock/damper?
The plan: To fit Pedders adjustable kit and CB005 in a couple of weeks, after first service.
My method would be to lift car and remove old shocks/dampers. Loosen diff carrier bolts, lower and replace spring, fit CB005 kit one side at a time. Snug up carrier bolts. Loosen what ever to clock bushings and adjust ride height with springs. Tighten bushings. Lift car, if spring is loose in the seats, raise arm until trapped, measure damper mounting holes, set shock/damper to that length. Check everything is tight, drive a little bit then take to alignment place.
So, what happens if the spring is tight in its seat? Do I just set the shock/damper to the measured length or do I pre-load it 5 or 10mm, then set the shock/damper to the measured length?
Or, am I talking out me bum and need to do something else entirely different.
As usual, all answers appreciated.
Cheers
