So for my first GT (2013) I was a bit over budget and went with some matte black wheels from American Muscle, they were very affordable but after a few thousand miles I noticed chips on the wheels. I know there will be wear and tear on anything you use daily but what bothered me the most was these chips left white marks on my wheels.

Is this something *ALL* matte black wheels suffer from or only some? I can understand America Muscle's more affordable wheels having this issue, but if I was wondering if other, higher end, manufacturers matte black rims would do the same?

I'd love to get a set that retain their color even when chipped rather than have a white undercoat.

They're all basically made out of aluminum alloy, so yeah, any chips are going to be silver.

My advice is get a little bottle of flat black paint and touch them up every 5 or 10 thousand miles. Its a $5 fix.
